Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled COBOL and Java Developer with strong expertise in Parthenon Host Architecture and Parthenon Retail systems. The ideal candidate will bring more than 5 years of development experience working across host-based and modern application environments.
This role is ideal for professionals who can combine legacy COBOL systems knowledge with modern Java/Spring Boot development skills, particularly in retail and accounting-related modules.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, enhance, and maintain host-based applications using COBOL (MicroFocus).
Build and support modern applications with Java and Spring Boot.
Work extensively on Parthenon Host Architecture and Parthenon Retail modules, focusing on accounting-level functionality.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration.
Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across host and Java environments.
Contribute to system upgrades, migrations, and modernization projects.
Required Skills and Experience:
5+ years of professional experience in application development.
Strong expertise in COBOL (MicroFocus) and Parthenon Host Architecture.
Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
Extensive knowledge of Parthenon Retail, with emphasis on accounting-level processes.
Experience with OBBs and host system integration.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently in a fully remote setup.
Education:
Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
